Bailey's Testimony
“I had been in active addiction since I was 13.”
My names Bailey Karr I’m 25. I completed the rehab in October of 2022 and have since been working here. I had been in active addiction since I was 13. I used a variety of different drugs weed, alcohol, pills, meth. My moms home was very abusive mentally and physically and then everyone at my dads was in full blown addiction. I was always hanging out with older people in really rough places looking for acceptance and love as a young girl in them environments only led to more problems.
I ended up pregnant with my daughter at 17. Her dad never
stuck around and was in and out of the picture due to his own addiction. I ended up losing
custody of Aubrie and spiraling completely out of control. I ended up getting involved with
some really bad and dangerous people that were involved in sex trafficking, prostitution and
drug trafficking ring. I didn’t realize how big of a mess I had gotten into until I was in icu with
a 2% chance of living due to “Hot shots” they had injected me with in the back room of a
trailer to try to kill me to keep me from testifying in case the cops were to find me after the
atf had busted one of the main people over the whole ring. I barely made it out of the trailer
alive if it hadn’t of been for my grandpa randomly pulling up. And me using the last bit of
energy I had to make it out while the man was in the back bed room. I was sent to three
different hospitals and flown out to the last in Nashville TN I was in a coma for 3 weeks and
really shouldn’t have made it. I woke up from the coma unable to walk, talk, breathe and eat
and had to relearn how to do all of that.
I stayed sober for about 9 months after that ended up homeless again and in another
abusive relationship with a dopedealer living in TN and I ended up relapsing and moving
back home to Lily Ky. Where I got super bad off on the needle for a year and a half I would
do large amounts of dope, heroin, pills whatever I could because I hated my life I really
wanted to die. I had no Hope. I ended up losing my mind and ended up in laurel county
detention center and was offered rehab I reached out to Megan Hatton and asked if I was
able to come to Hope city on April 18 2022 I was transported from laurel county detention
center to Hope City.
I’ve since then been clean, come to know the Lord on a personal level. I am furthering my
education through the trager program at the university of Louisville. God is restoring my
relationship with my daughter and my family.
I have a church family that loves and supports me through every decision in life and great
godly council. Gods provided me with a home and the best job anyone could ever have
where I can see people’s lives and families completely restored as they grow closer to
Christ.
